An outpouring of wishes for peace, a prayer to the Lamb of God.
After writing my mass for choir and orchestra, which is also available on this site and which was beautifully performed a few years ago by Budapest Scoring, I decided to arrange a version of the Agnus Dei from it for string orchestra (6 violins, 3 violas, 3 cellos and 2 contrabasses).
The original words of the Agnus Dei are:
Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi
(Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world)
miserere nobis
(have mercy upon us)
Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi
(Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world)
Dona nobis pacem
(Grant us peace)
