Description
This curious string quartet is based on Mildred Hill’s original
(public domain) children’s song “Good morning to all”.
It has been used during the 20th century as the most famous of
birthday songs “Happy birthday to you” and was copyrighted in that guise
until recently, but the original tune by Mildred Hill,
which I have used, is in the public domain.
This is a somewhat sardonic arrangement and stretches the harmonies
rather exactingly, but the tune remains recognisable throughout.
