Description

Instrumental arrangement of Pierre Passereau’s fun madrigal about two women extolling the virtues of their husbands.
The sound of their voices gradually begin to sound like the chickens that their husbands are feeding.

(Original words – [my English translation is below])
Il ne me courousse ne me bat aussi;

He is good and handsome, my husband is,
There were two gossiping women in the village,
Saying one to the other, do you have a good husband?
He doesn`t scold me, or beat me either.
He does the chores, he feeds the chickens
And I just enjoy myself.
Really you have to laugh
to hear the cries of the chicks and hens:
Co, co, co, co, dae, little flirt, what`s this?
He is good and handsome, my husband is.
