Description
A vivid and raucous celebration of Saturnalia for an ensemble of instruments
(with Cor anglais (aka English horn) as soloist).
The piece is written mainly in a whole tone scale and various
national tunes are quoted in a parodical fashion (USA national anthem
(Oh say can you see), German national anthem (Deutschland über alles but
originally based on a melody by Haydn), and the UK national anthem
originally by Thomas Arne (God save our gracious queen))
