Description
This is the second in the series of “Inventions” by my fictitious character Professor Burble
whom I created back in the 1970s to cover my more adventurous compositions.
In this case the original idea for the tune came from a scrap of paper given to me by the “Princess” of Pembroke College in Oxford (Peter Norman) in 1972.
It appears in various subsequent compositions including a tuba quartet and a short story called the Duchess’ Tune
