Wohlauf, Jung und Alt,
resch und bald,
daß sein Gott heut’ selber walt’!
Der Tag her dringt,
der Vogel singt
daß’s allenthalb’,
daß’s all’s im Wald erklingt.
Ihr Ritter und Knecht’,
merkt eben recht,
ob ich ein’n Hirsch zuwegen brächt’!
Arise, young and old,
lively and quick,
so that God rules today!
The morning rises,
the bird sings
so that everywhere
the woods resound.
Ye knights and servants,
pay attention now,
if I may get a stag!
