Variations for 3 flutes on a madrigal by Thomas Weelkes – an English composer and organist at Chichester Cathedral – in one of his many lighter moments I haven’t added a tabor part (neither did Weelkes) but a drummer or tabor player can certainly improvise along, of course…. In these variations the key changes from time to time and the third instrument (among others) has some cheeky alternatives to its part.
