Description
Easter anthem composed by Jacquet of Mantua (often misattributed to Jacquet of Berchem)
(Most musicologists attribute the piece to Jacquet of Mantua, who wrote mainly religious works.
The composer from Berchem was better known for madrigals).
Alleluia.
Surrexit Dominus vere,
et apparuit Simoni, alleluia.
Exultemus et laetemur dies ista laetitiae.
Haec dies, quam fecit Dominus
Exultemus et laetemur in ea.
Alleluia.
Alleluia.
The Lord has truly risen
and appeared to Simon, alleluia.
Let us rejoice on this day of joy,
This is the day which the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Alleluia.
