Description
Written for the wedding of two friends whom I introduced to each other and who subsequently married.
(I sang it at their wedding in 1994)
He was master of music at the church and she was a soprano whom I introduced to the choir back in 1990.
As I sang alto in the choir at that time I decided the song should say “Cupid sings alto”.
It’s quite obvious when you think of it 😉
I have specified countertenor rather than contralto since there are a few places where the voice goes into bass clef – but contraltos are welcome to try it 😉
The music includes cheeky quotes from the music that we sang and a reference to the white eyed angel above the organ in the church.
