Description
Composed at the request of flautist Robert Billington, whom you can hear play it in the sound sample, this flute solo quotes from the renaissance madrigal “Sweet Kate”, makes sly references to the world war 1 song K-K-K-Katy and gives the flautist opportunities to use various techniques on the instrument, especially stuttering.
It was written and performed for a St Valentine’s Day concert.
