The Enchantress of the North (L’Incantatrice del Nord) for flute choir

Description

The Enchantress of the North (L’incantatrice del Norte) is none other than a friend from North London for whom I wrote a vocal duet.
However, it then became a septet in which the harmonies evolved and it it is now an orchestral style creation.

First performance by Budapest Scoring flutes

2nd performance by New England Flute Orchestra

3rd performance by the Istanbul Flute Ensemble under Ece Karşal

It is based on a song I wrote many years ago for a lady from the North, well, North London anyway!

Lyrics of the original song:

Soft warm tender gentle kind caring:
your very scent will drive the physical and the mental
to the height of ecstasy.
Sing, play, kiss and cuddle,
weave my thoughts into a muddle
trees that are just in bud will spring to life in ecstasy!
